Shawna grew up in the South Bay but moved to Northern California in 2009 to raise her children and be closer to her mother. Once she settled in the Butte County area, she realized the amazing gift she had been blessed with. The diversity of the natural world in every direction, from Tahoe to Trinity to Lassen and Shasta, and beyond, inspired her to get out and explore.

She was encouraged to hike her first 14K last October 2023, summiting White Mountain in the Enyo Forest. Her newfound passion lead to creating an Outdoor Adventure Club at a local high school. 

Shawna has now set her sights on hiking all of the Cascade Mountains and traveling to Europe to hike the Carpathian Mountains in Poland & Slovakia. Her greatest passion is sharing her love of Mother Earth in an attempt to inspire others to get out and explore. Her greatest joy is being a mother to the two most amazing people ever to exist.
